The Views to sales report follows each of your products through four steps: a shopper sees it in a list of products, opens its page, adds it to the cart and buys it. The step where a product loses shoppers shows you what to look at: the product page itself, or what happens after the cart.
Open the report #
- In your WordPress admin, open Tendlio → Reports.
- Click Views to sales. On the Overview, it’s under Products & stock.
Above the figures, pick a period: 30 days, 90 days, 365 days or Custom range. The report opens on 30 days, and the line under the buttons gives the exact dates. It counts completed days, so what happens today joins the figures tomorrow.
The report fills in while Track widget and product performance is on in Settings. That switch is on from the start. If you turn it off, the report says so, and its figures stop at the day you turned it off.
Right under the period buttons, the Tracking status panel tells you if tracking works. It says whether tracking is On, gives the dates of the latest listing view, product view, add to cart and purchase, and shows today’s counts. If the latest product view is days old while your shop is getting orders, check whether something on your site is stopping the script that counts views. For the steps, see Tendlio isn’t recording product visits.
What each figure counts #
The cards over the tables add up your whole shop, and the tables show the same figures for each product:
- Seen in listings: how many shoppers saw the product’s card in a list of products, counted once per visit. The lists Tendlio counts are your shop, category and search pages, your homepage, and the related products on product pages. This figure is only in the tables.
- Product views, or Views in the tables: how many shoppers opened the product’s page, counted once per visit.
- Added to cart: how many times shoppers added the product to their cart.
- Purchases: how many times the product was bought. Five of the same item in one order count once, but two sizes of it in one order count twice. A purchase counts on the day its order reaches a status that counts as a sale, such as Processing or Completed.
- View to cart is add-to-carts divided by views, and Cart to buy is purchases divided by add-to-carts.
- Revenue: what shoppers paid for the product, after discounts. Tax, shipping and free gifts are left out, so it can read lower than Reports → Revenue for the same days.
What you do in your own shop while logged in as an administrator or shop manager doesn’t count, and neither do test orders you place from that account.
Where each figure is counted #
Tendlio counts add-to-carts and purchases on your server, for every cart and order, so they don’t depend on the shopper’s browser. Tendlio leaves out one kind of add-to-cart: one with no sign of a browser behind it, which is how a search engine or a script following the cart links on your category pages shows up. When it has left any out in the last 7 days, the Tracking status panel shows how many, today and over those 7 days, under Adds not counted. If that number is high while the Added to cart figure for your shop looks too low, tell us through Help → Contact support, because the check may be too strict for your shop.
Views and Seen in listings are counted in the shopper’s browser, by a small script Tendlio adds to your shop pages, so they’re a close estimate. Obvious bots are left out. If your shop has a cookie consent tool that works with the WP Consent API, shoppers who decline statistics cookies aren’t counted either.
A shopper can add a product to the cart straight from a category page without opening the product page, so a product can have more add-to-carts than views. View to cart then shows a dash instead of a rate. If add-to-carts come in but no views at all, the report says the script isn’t reporting views and links to the fix.
If a note over the figures says that add-to-carts before a certain day include bots, pick a period that starts after that day to get a clean number.
Find the products that lose shoppers #
Worth a look: lots of views, few add-to-carts lists the products shoppers open a lot but rarely add to the cart: at least 20 views in the period, and fewer than 1 add-to-cart for every 10 views. It leaves out sold-out products, because they have no add-to-cart button. The weakest come first, and the list shows five. When more products qualify, the line under the title says how many. Look at the product page first: compare its price, photos, description and reviews with a product of yours that sells well.
Shoppers are viewing products you have run out of lists sold-out products that shoppers still open, each with at least 20 views, most viewed first. Shoppers who want them can’t buy them until you restock. See all out-of-stock products opens Products & insights with only your sold-out products.
For the last 30 days, the same two lists also come to your to-do list as cards, while Tendlio is counting views on your shop pages and your shop has had enough visits. Each card’s button opens its list here. A sold-out best-seller that’s already on your card about best-sellers running low stays on that card only.
Every product shows the figures of each product that had any activity in the period, starting with the most viewed. Click a column title with a dotted line under it to sort the whole list by that column. A sold-out product has an Out of stock tag. A rate is green at 30% or more, yellow from 10%, and red below that. A dash means the rate can’t be worked out: either the step before has fewer than 5 (views for View to cart, add-to-carts for Cart to buy), or the next step has more than the step before it. Hover over the dash to see which.
Products nobody is seeing appears once the period has any listing views at all. It lists in-stock products that no shopper saw in a list of products during the period, and whose page nobody opened. It shows the 20 with the most money tied up in their stock. To get them seen, check they’re in the right category, link to them from a best-seller, or give them a place on your shop page.

Frequently asked questions #
Why does a product have more add-to-carts than views? #
Shoppers can add a product to the cart straight from a category page without opening the product page. View to cart shows a dash for that product.
Why is the Revenue here different from Reports → Revenue? #
The Product funnel counts what shoppers paid for each product after discounts, with no tax, no shipping and no free gifts, and it counts an order on the day it becomes a sale.
Why don't my own test orders show up? #
What you do while logged in as an administrator or shop manager isn't counted, including orders placed from that account.
