No. A storefront feature you’ve switched off adds nothing to your shop’s pages: no row, no message, and none of its styles or scripts.
What stays while a feature is off #
- Its settings. Everything you set stays as you left it, so switching the feature back on brings it back the same way.
- Its shortcode. A shortcode you left on a page shows nothing while the feature is off, instead of showing up as text in square brackets, so you can leave it where it is.
- A free gift already in a cart. A shopper who claimed one before you switched the gift off keeps it, free, through checkout.
On-sale picks, the free gift and Smart 404 suggestions also show nothing to shoppers while Enable experimental features is off in Settings, whatever their own switch says.
What loads while a feature is on #
A feature you’ve switched on loads its files only on the pages where it can appear:
- Product rows (Frequently bought together, the two cart rows, In-stock alternatives, On-sale picks, Recommended for you, Trending now and Boosted products): the slider loads on a page only when a row there has products to show.
- The Deals page: on the page that carries its shortcode.
- The free gift: on your cart page, and on a page that carries its shortcode, while the offer is on.
- Smart 404 suggestions: on your “page not found” pages.
- Recover sales: while it saves abandoned checkouts, a small script on your checkout page.
Auto outlet and Smart Product Sort work on your server and add no files to your pages. Boost and the thank-you from Customer recognition don’t add any either.
Storefront measurement has its own switch #
Storefront measurement counts views, clicks, add-to-carts and purchases for your reports. It’s on from the start, and it runs whether or not any widget is on:
- On product pages, shop, category and tag pages, product search results and your home page, it loads two small scripts that count views. They don’t load for administrators and shop managers who are logged in, so if you look at a page’s source while you’re logged in, you won’t find them.
- On every page of your shop, a small script notes the site or ad that sent the shopper, so their order can show where it came from.
It stores counts per product, and on each order it notes which products the shopper had been shown, clicked or added to the cart. It never stores names, emails or IP addresses. To switch it off, open Settings → General → Storefront and turn off Track widget and product performance. Your shop keeps working as before, but the Storefront widgets and Views to sales reports get no new numbers from that day on, and Marketing & profit reads only WooCommerce’s own record of where orders came from.
Your own CSS goes on every page #
If you’ve added CSS under Custom CSS for storefront widgets, at the bottom of the Storefront page, Tendlio adds it to every page of your shop, whether or not a widget shows there. If you don’t use it, leave the field empty.
Additional resources #
- Storefront widget positions and shortcodes: every shortcode, and where each widget places itself.
- Your data and privacy: what storefront measurement records, and the cookies it sets.
- Measuring what the widgets earn: the reports that measurement fills.
- A storefront widget doesn’t show up: when a widget you’ve switched on doesn’t appear.
Frequently asked questions #
Does Tendlio slow down my store? #
A feature you've switched off adds nothing to your pages. A product row loads its slider only on a page where it has products to show, and storefront measurement loads two small scripts on product and listing pages plus one on every page.
Can I leave a shortcode on a page after turning its feature off? #
Yes. It shows nothing while the feature is off, and the row comes back when you switch the feature on again.
