The Storefront widgets report shows what each of your storefront widgets does for your sales: how often shoppers see it, click a product in it, add that product to the cart and buy it, and what those purchases were worth. Use it to keep the widgets that earn their place and to switch off the ones that don’t.
Open the report #
- In your WordPress admin, open Tendlio → Reports.
- Click Storefront widgets, listed under Is it working? on the Overview.
Above the figures, pick a period: 7 days, 30 days, 90 days or Custom range. The report opens on 30 days, and the line under the buttons gives the exact dates. It counts completed days, so what happens today joins the figures tomorrow. If you open the report from the link next to a widget’s earnings on Sales lift, the Growth engine or the Dashboard, it opens on every day since tracking started, so its figures match those earnings.
The report fills in while Track widget and product performance is on in Settings. That switch is on from the start, and the description under it lists what tracking stores and the cookies it uses.
How a sale is credited to a widget #
When a shopper clicks a product in one of your widgets, Tendlio remembers which widget it was, and for 7 days after that click, it credits that widget with any add-to-cart or purchase of that product. If the shopper clicked the product in more than one widget, the last one gets the credit.
- In the report, a product can show a sale with no add-to-cart beside it. Only an add-to-cart that comes after the click counts for the widget, so the sale shows without one when the product was already in the shopper’s cart before the click. It also shows without one when the shopper added the product before the period you’re looking at began.
- Some widgets have their own Add to cart button. A shopper who uses it adds and buys without clicking the product, so Conversion, purchases divided by clicks, can read above 100%.
- A purchase counts once its order reaches a status that counts as a sale. Free gifts don’t count, and neither do orders placed from your own administrator or shop manager account.
The credit is a best guess: a shopper who bought after clicking a widget might have bought anyway. Use the report to see which widgets earn their place, and read its amounts as estimates.
What the report shows #
- The six cards (Impressions, Clicks, Added to cart, Purchases, Conversion and Revenue) add up all your widgets. An impression counts each time a widget scrolls into view on a shopper’s screen. Revenue is what shoppers paid for the recommended products they bought, after discounts and with no tax. It doesn’t include shipping or the rest of their orders.
- Basket size: with a recommendation vs without compares the average order that included a recommended product with the average order that didn’t. It shows once each group has at least 30 orders in the period, with the number of orders in each group under the cards. The two groups are different orders, so the gap shows whether orders with a recommended product tend to be bigger. What the widgets brought in is on the Sales lift page. The averages come from your orders as they are now, so an order that was later canceled or refunded no longer sits in the average.
- Widget revenue over time is a chart of the widgets’ revenue, day by day for 7 and 30 days, and week by week for longer periods. Hover over a point to see its amount and number of purchases.
- By section has a row for each widget that had any activity in the period, with its click-through (clicks divided by impressions) and conversion (purchases divided by clicks). A widget you place with a shortcode shows its shortcode next to its name.
- Every product the widgets touched lists every product a widget showed in the period, biggest earners first, with the widget that showed it most and the one that sold it most. Click a column title with a dotted line under it to sort the whole list by that column. For a single product, impressions count each time at least half of its own card was on a shopper’s screen, so a card past the edge of a slider counts only once a shopper swipes to it.
Find the products worth a look #
Three buttons over the product list decide what it shows:
- Shown, not clicked: products your widgets kept showing that shoppers clicked or added to the cart far less often than those widgets’ products do on average, and never bought.
- Clicked, not bought: products shoppers clicked or added to the cart, but bought far less often than those widgets turn a click into a sale on average.
- All products brings back the whole list.
The first two buttons show how many products they hold, and the Verdict column puts the same words next to each product. Hover over a verdict to see the numbers behind it. Until a widget has enough activity of its own to compare with, Tendlio flags only the clear cases: plenty of impressions and not one click or add to cart, or plenty of clicks or adds to cart and not one sale. Verdicts use only the days since Tendlio started counting each product’s own card on screen. When your period starts earlier, the line under the buttons names that day.
A product that a widget keeps showing and nobody clicks takes a place in the row that another product could use. To keep a product out of every recommendation row, tick it on Products & insights and click Hide from recommendations. Boost and Hide explains how hiding works. A product that gets clicked but not bought brings shoppers to its page, and they don’t buy it. Start with the page itself: its price, photos, description and reviews.
If a widget shows nothing #
If a widget you switched on recorded nothing in the period, a line under By section names it and says what to check:
- If Tendlio has seen the widget show on your storefront, the row is there but its count isn’t reaching Tendlio: something on the page is stopping it, such as a caching or JavaScript optimization plugin, a consent tool or a script error.
- If Tendlio hasn’t seen the widget’s spot load lately, the row most likely doesn’t show on your theme. Open a page where you expect it and check.
- If Tendlio can’t tell, either nobody reached the page the widget is on, or something on that page stops the count. Open the page: if the row is there, its count is being stopped.
If nothing is reaching Tendlio from your shop pages at all, a note over the figures says so.

Frequently asked questions #
Why does a product show a purchase but no add-to-cart? #
The shopper may have put the product in the cart before clicking it in a widget, or added it before the period you're looking at began. A purchase within 7 days of the click still counts for the widget.
Why is Conversion above 100%? #
Widgets with their own Add to cart button record the add-to-cart and the purchase without a click on the product.
Why don't these numbers match Sales lift? #
The report opens on the last 30 days, while Sales lift counts everything since tracking started. Open the report from Sales lift and it covers the same days.
