When a widget you’ve switched on doesn’t appear in your shop, go through the checks below in order, and stop when it shows. If the widget does show but looks wrong, or its figures never move, the last two sections are for you.
Check that the widget can show #
- Its switch is on. The product rows and the Deals page each have a switch on the Storefront page: turn it on and click Save settings. The free gift and Smart 404 suggestions have theirs on the Experimental page.
- Experimental features are on, if the widget needs them. On-sale picks, the free gift and Smart 404 suggestions show nothing while Enable experimental features is off, under Settings → General → Experimental & license.
- Its shortcode is on a published page, if the widget needs one. Recommended for you, Trending now, Boosted products and the Deals page show only where you place their shortcode. Until Tendlio finds the shortcode on a published page or post, the widget’s card reads Off on the Growth engine page and On, not placed yet on the Sales lift page. Tendlio looks for it only in your pages and posts, so if you put the shortcode in a theme template or a widget area, the widget can show there while its cards keep reading Off and On, not placed yet.
- It has something to show. If a row has no products to show, it stays hidden, so shoppers never see an empty box. Frequently bought together shows only on products that have pairs, and On-sale picks only on products whose related products include something on sale. Some widgets also wait for something: the cart rows need a product in the cart, In-stock alternatives set to Only when the product is out of stock shows only on sold-out products, and the free gift needs a Minimum cart total above 0. If Recommended for you, Trending now, Boosted products or Cart recommendations has nothing to show, and you’re logged in as a shop manager or administrator, you see a note headed “Only you can see this (store admin).” in its place, and the note says why.
Look at the page as a shopper #
Open your shop in a private (incognito) window, without logging in, and go to the page where the widget should be. If your site uses a caching plugin, shoppers can get a copy of the page saved before you switched the widget on, and your own view while logged in may not match what they get. After you switch a widget on or change its position, clear that plugin’s cache.
If your theme or page builder skips the spot #
Frequently bought together, In-stock alternatives, On-sale picks and the two cart rows place themselves in WooCommerce’s standard spots on the product page and on the cart page. Some themes and page builders, including some themes built from blocks, don’t load those spots, so a widget placed there never appears.
- For a row on the product page, open its panel on the Storefront page, choose Below the whole product area (works with page builders) under Position, and click Save settings. Check the product page again.
- If the row still doesn’t show, or it’s one of the cart rows, choose Shortcode only (I’ll place it myself) and click Save settings. The panel then shows the widget’s shortcode with a Copy button.
- Paste the shortcode where you want the widget: in your page builder, in your product page or cart page template, or in the Site Editor, in a Shortcode block.
If your cart page uses the block Cart, the cart rows can’t place themselves on it at all, and their panels say so: “Heads up: your cart page uses the block Cart, so this row won’t appear there automatically.” Use steps 2 and 3.
The thank-you from Customer recognition has no shortcode. It shows at the top of the classic cart page and above the product lists on your shop and category pages, and some themes built from blocks use neither spot. How to thank your best customers with Customer recognition explains where it shows.
If Tendlio says On, but not showing #
Tendlio watches whether your shop loads the spot you chose for each widget that places itself. If it hasn’t seen that spot load for a week, counted from when you switched the widget on or from when it last showed, the widget’s card on the Growth engine and Sales lift pages reads On, but not showing. For a product row, a note under Position on the Storefront page also names the shortcode to place. If the widget used to show and then stopped, for example after you changed your theme, the note says when Tendlio last saw it.
The fix is the one in the section above: the position that works with page builders, or the shortcode. Once the widget shows again, its card goes back to its usual status on its own.
If the widget shows but looks wrong #
A speed plugin’s Remove Unused CSS setting (some plugins call it UCSS or critical CSS) can leave a row without its arrows or dots, or an add-to-cart button that shows no spinner and doesn’t turn green once the product is in the cart. That setting keeps only the styles it finds in the page as your server sends it. Some of Tendlio’s styles are for parts that Tendlio’s script adds after the page opens: the arrows and dots on a product row, the spinner on an add-to-cart button, the message about a free gift in the cart, and the Deals page’s load-more button while it loads. Add these to that plugin’s safelist, then clear its cache:
.swiper-initialized, .swiper-horizontal, .swiper-wrapper, .swiper-slide-active, .swiper-slide-next, .swiper-slide-prev, .swiper-pagination-bullet, .swiper-pagination-bullet-active, .swiper-button-disabled, .swiper-button-lock, .tendlio-bt--has-overflow, .tendlio-spin, .tendlio-gift-msg, .tendlio-deals__btn.is-loading, .tendlio-bt-card__atc.loading, .tendlio-bt-card__atc.added
Remove query strings from static resources is not supported, so leave that setting off. The address of each Tendlio file carries the plugin’s version, and that’s how your shoppers’ browsers know an update has arrived. Without it, a browser can keep using an old copy of Tendlio’s script with a newer plugin, and a widget can end up half working.

If the widget shows but its figures don’t move #
A widget can show and sell while the views and clicks it’s judged on never reach Tendlio. If Tendlio has seen that widget load, its card reads Showing, but not measured, and a note above the cards says whether storefront measurement is switched off or Tendlio’s script isn’t reporting from your shop. Tendlio isn’t recording product visits explains what to check.

Frequently asked questions #
Why does the row show for me but not for shoppers? #
A caching plugin can serve shoppers a copy of the page saved before you switched the row on. Clear its cache and check the page in a private window, without logging in.
Does Tendlio work with block themes? #
Yes, for the product rows and the Deals page: themes built from blocks can skip WooCommerce's standard spots, so place the widget with its shortcode, in the Site Editor, in a Shortcode block.
Why does the Growth engine card say Off when the row is on my home page? #
Tendlio looks for the shortcode in your published pages and posts. If it sits in a theme template or a widget area, the row shows, but the card keeps reading Off.
