What Tendlio can do for you automatically

5 min read

Some Tendlio tools keep working on their own once they’re on. They put products in front of your shoppers, discount stock that isn’t selling, email your customers after they buy or leave a checkout, and send you a summary of your store.

Nothing emails your customers or changes your prices until you switch it on. The summary email to you is on from the start. The Deals page is switched on too, but it appears in your shop only after you paste its shortcode into one of your pages, and until then its Growth engine card says Off.

See your tools in one place #

The Growth engine page lists Tendlio’s automatic tools in groups. Each tool has a card with a button that opens the page where you switch it on or change it. The card also shows the tool’s status: Off, Running, or Results ready once the tool has enough results to judge. When a tool is on but something holds it back, its card says what and points you to the fix. For example, it says On, but not showing when Tendlio hasn’t seen the tool load in your shop. The card at the top, under Best place to start, is the next tool Tendlio suggests switching on, starting with the ones you switch on in one click.

Product rows in your shop #

You switch these on under Storefront → Recommendations, each in its own section:

  • Frequently bought together shows, on a product page, the products your customers buy with it.
  • Cart recommendations suggests one more product in the cart, before checkout.
  • In-stock alternatives shows in-stock substitutes on the page of a product that’s sold out.
  • Cart outlet picks shows related products that are on sale, in the cart.
  • On-sale picks shows related products that are on sale, on the product page. It’s an Experimental feature, so it shows only while Enable experimental features is on under Settings → General.
  • Recommended for you is a row picked for each shopper from what they’ve bought, looked at or left in the cart.
  • Trending now shows what’s selling fastest right now.
  • Boosted products row shows the products you boost on Products & insights.

The Deals page, under Storefront → Deals, keeps itself filled with products you have on sale.

Recommended for you, Trending now, the Boosted products row and the Deals page show only where you place them: each one’s section gives you a shortcode to paste into a page. The other rows appear on their own on your product pages or in the cart. If your theme doesn’t show one of them, its card on the Growth engine page says On, but not showing.

Discounts and product order #

  • Auto outlet, under Inventory, discounts stock that isn’t selling: first a small discount, then a bigger one while the product still doesn’t sell. It starts Disabled. In Preview it shows which products it would discount without changing any prices, and it changes prices only in Live. It can’t go Live until Seasonal detection is on and an analysis has run since you switched it on, so it doesn’t discount products that are only out of season.
  • Smart Product Sort, under Storefront, puts the products that sell and earn best right now at the top of your product listings.
  • Seasonal detection, under Inventory → Seasonal, finds the products that sell mostly in a few months of the year, so Tendlio doesn’t take them for dead stock between seasons. It’s off until you switch on Detect seasonal products automatically from sales history, and its list fills in after the next analysis.

Emails to your customers #

These tools email your customers for you. Each one waits until customer email sending is Live under Settings → Email sending, and the emails go out through the sending method you set up there: your Brevo or Amazon SES account, or your site’s own mail.

  • Cart recovery, under Customers → Recover sales, saves the checkouts where a shopper typed an email and the carts of shoppers who are logged in, and can email those shoppers to come back and finish the order. Saving starts as soon as you switch on Capture abandoned checkouts on that page, even while sending is Off. The emails have a switch of their own there: Send recovery emails automatically after the wait time.
  • Welcome emails, under Customers → Welcome & second order, greet first-time buyers and point them toward a second order.
  • Second-order nudge, on the same page, follows up after a first order with a reason to come back for a second one.
  • Review requests ask buyers for a review a while after you mark their order Completed. They’re an Experimental feature: switch on Enable experimental features under Settings → General and click Save settings, then open the Experimental page and click the Turn Reviews on switch, then Save. Reviews then appears under Customers, where you write the email and switch on sending.

Customer recognition, under Customers, shows your best customers a thank-you with a coupon on your cart and shop pages, from time to time. It needs two switches on its page, Show the thank-you (with a coupon when one is due) on cart and shop pages and Sometimes include a thank-you coupon, because the thank-you shows only when a coupon is due. It recognizes customers who are logged in when they shop. Customer recognition doesn’t send emails, so it doesn’t wait for sending.

A summary email to you #

The Weekly summary email tells you what changed in your store, what your tools brought in and what needs you next. It’s on from the start, it goes to you and never to your customers, and you can get it monthly instead. Its settings are under Reports → Store summary.

What the tools bring in #

Once a tool has enough results, its card on the Growth engine page shows the money it brought in, with a link to the report behind it. Sales lift, under Reports, adds up the sales Tendlio can tie to its tools, and once that total is above zero, the Dashboard shows it as Earned back.

Frequently asked questions #

Will Tendlio email my customers without asking? #

No. Customer emails wait until you switch sending to Live under Settings → Email sending, and each email tool has its own switch as well.

Will Auto outlet change my prices as soon as I turn it on? #

Only in Live. It starts Disabled, and Preview shows which products it would discount without changing any prices. It can't go Live until Seasonal detection is on and an analysis has run since you switched it on.

Why does a tool say "On, but not showing"? #

Tendlio hasn't seen that row load in your shop. A storefront widget doesn't show up lists the causes and what to do.
