Tendlio starts in Simple mode, unless you chose Advanced during setup. In Simple mode, Tendlio’s fine-tuning settings are out of sight, at their default values until someone changes them in Advanced mode. Advanced mode shows those settings, and switching back to Simple hides them again without changing what they’re set to.
You will learn #
- What Simple and Advanced mode change, and what they leave alone
- Where to switch between them
- Which settings Advanced mode adds
- How to turn the guided tours on or off, and see the welcome tour again
Before you begin #
- The mode is the same for everyone. Simple or Advanced is one setting for your whole store, so when you switch, everyone who uses Tendlio on your site sees the change.
Switch between Simple and Advanced #
- Find the Simple / Advanced switch. In the app layout, it’s at the bottom of Tendlio’s menu on the left. When that menu is collapsed to icons, the switch is the sliders icon at the bottom. With Tendlio’s menu across the top of the page, the switch is at the very bottom of every Tendlio page.
- Click the switch. The page reloads in the other mode, and you stay on the page you were on.
You can also switch modes under Settings → General, in Advanced options & guidance. Use the Turn on Advanced mode switch there, on for Advanced and off for Simple, and click Save settings.
Advanced mode changes only what you see. Your scores and data are worked out the same way in both modes, and nothing turns off in Simple mode.
What Advanced mode adds #
Each setting that Advanced mode adds carries a small Adv mark. Hover over it to read: “Advanced option. The default works for most stores; change this only if you want more control.”
You’ll find them on these pages:
- Settings → General, under Inventory: Stockout warning, how many days ahead Tendlio warns you that a best-seller will run out.
- Storefront → Recommendations: how closely a product has to match to be suggested, and a few more choices, in the panels for Frequently bought together, Cart outlet picks, On-sale picks and In-stock alternatives.
- Storefront → Deals: Cache, for the Deals page.
- Customer recognition: Per-segment offer, and how often a customer can get a thank-you coupon, how long it’s valid and how many go out a day.
- Recover sales: Send frequency, Daily recovery email limit and Coupon validity.
- Welcome & second order: Minimum gap between automated emails, which keeps the welcome email, the second-order nudge and review requests from reaching the same person too close together.
- Auto outlet: Stuck after, how long a discounted product can go without a sale before it counts as stuck.
- Smart Product Sort: New-product placement, Trial length and Season boost.
- Seasonal: Peak window, Concentration and Minimum sales, which decide how strict seasonal detection is.
On some of these pages, Simple mode shows a link where one of these settings would help, such as “Want to fine-tune how strict detection is? Turn on Advanced mode in Settings.” on the Seasonal page. The link opens Settings at the Advanced mode switch, and saving there leaves you on Settings. To stay where you were, use the Simple / Advanced switch on the page itself: it reloads that page in Advanced mode.
Turn the guided tours on or off #
Two more switches sit under Advanced options & guidance. Click Save settings after you change either one.
- Guided helpers: Show the “Show me around” button on the busy pages puts a Show me around button on Tendlio’s busiest pages. Click it for a short tour of the page you’re on, step by step. The button is there unless you turn it off.
- Getting started guide: Show the Getting started guide under Help keeps the step-by-step checklist in the Help menu. Once you’ve done every step, the guide leaves the menu on its own. How to set up Tendlio with the Getting started guide explains it.
To take the welcome tour of the Dashboard again, open Settings → General, scroll to Setup at the bottom, and click Replay the welcome tour. It opens the Dashboard and walks you through your scores, your numbers and where everything lives.
Why Simple mode hides settings instead of turning them off #
A hidden setting keeps working at the value it has, so switching modes never changes how your store runs. If Simple mode put hidden settings back to their defaults, a daily recovery email limit you’d raised in Advanced mode would drop back the moment anyone switched modes. With the lower limit, the recovery emails over it would wait until the next day.
In Simple mode, Recover sales tells you when today’s recovery email limit has been reached, and that Advanced mode is where you raise it.
