A to-do I marked done came back

3 min read

Mark done tells Tendlio you’ve fixed the problem, and Tendlio then checks your store’s data. If the problem is still there when Tendlio checks, the card comes back to your to-do list.

When Tendlio checks #

  • A card about one mistake, such as a best-seller that’s sold out or products priced below cost, is checked by the next analysis that starts after you marked it done: the weekly one Tendlio runs on its own, or one you start with Re-scan store. An analysis that stops before it finishes doesn’t count. If the problem is gone, the card stays under Done. If it’s still there, the card comes back.
  • A card about a trend, such as best-sellers losing steam, stock piling up, products that stopped selling or customers going quiet, stays done for about 30 days, because those numbers take weeks to change. After that, it comes back if it’s still true.

To see which kind a card is, hover over Mark done. A card about one mistake says it “clears once your next analysis confirms it’s fixed”. A trend card says “We’ll re-check in about 30 days”.

Two cards count only what happens after you mark them done: “N coupons are giving away more than they earn” and “N products are being returned a lot”. Once you’ve marked one of them done, it counts only coupon use or returns from that day on, so it comes back only if coupons keep giving away more than they earn, or products keep being returned, after that day.

Why a card came back, and what to do #

  • You’ve started the fix, but it isn’t in your data yet. For example, you’ve ordered stock that hasn’t arrived, so WooCommerce still shows the product as sold out. Choose Snooze… instead of Mark done, and pick 7, 14 or 30 days. The card comes back when that time is up, if the problem is still there.
  • You fixed it, but WooCommerce doesn’t show it. Tendlio checks what WooCommerce records for your products, such as their stock, prices and costs. If the shelf is full but the product’s Quantity still says 0, the card comes back. Update the product in WooCommerce, then run an analysis with Re-scan store.
  • The card covers a group, and part of it still has the problem. A card like “N products are priced below cost” is one card for every product in it. If you fixed some of them, the card comes back for the rest, and its number can be different.
  • The card doesn’t apply to your store. Click Not relevant instead. The card hides for good and doesn’t come back unless you restore it. On a card that covers a group of products, that includes the products that join the group later.
  • You brought it back yourself. Restore on the History page puts a card back on your to-do list, as long as your latest analysis still finds its problem. Bring back now does the same for a snoozed card before its time is up.
  • You deleted it from Done. Delete forever and Clear all on the History page remove cards from Done, but they don’t mark the problems as fixed. If your latest analysis still finds the problem, the card comes back as a new card the next time you open the To do page or the Dashboard.

Find the cards you’ve cleared #

Open Settings → History. Once you’ve marked a card done or hidden one, the bottom of the To do page also has a view history link to the same page. Cards you marked done are under Done, cards you hid for good are under Not relevant, and cards you snoozed are under Snoozed to-dos.

Why Tendlio checks your data #

If one click hid a card for good, it could hide a problem you haven’t fixed, such as a best-seller that’s still sold out, and you’d find out when its sales stopped. Because Tendlio checks your data, a card you marked done stays done only when the problem is gone.

Additional resources #

  • How to work through your to-do list: marking cards done, snoozing them, or hiding them for good.
  • What your to-do list can catch: every kind of card, and where its button takes you.
  • How to see your activity and cleared to-dos in History: what Restore and Delete forever do.
  • How and when to re-scan your store: when to run an analysis yourself.

Frequently asked questions #

How do I stop a to-do from coming back? #

Fix the problem in WooCommerce and run an analysis. If the card doesn't apply to your store, click Not relevant: it hides for good.

What's the difference between Snooze and Mark done? #

Snooze hides a card for the days you pick, then brings it back if the problem is still there. Mark done tells Tendlio the problem is fixed, and the next check confirms it.
